Who doesn’t love a genre where not even the sky is the limit? Speculative Fiction promises the writer unlimited storytelling freedom - you can write longer, indulge in the pleasures of world building, and populate that world with creatures unbound by space, time, gender, and species. 

Of course - as countless characters have learned - freedom comes at a cost.  In truth, Speculative Fiction asks the writer to think outside the box and within the box at the same time.
